The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any.

Frauenkreise is a women*’s project in Berlin-Mitte. We were founded in 1992 and are funded by the state of Berlin. We advise women* and their families in challenging situations. We support their individual development and foster their personal growth. We work to promote culture, education and intercultural feminist networking.

We seek to raise awareness in women* and men* for:

  • women*’s artistic, cultural, social, and political work and achievements.

  • the issues and positioning of women* who have not been at the centre of (white) feminist debates.

  • power and discrimination structures in society based on “race”, class, sexual orientation, impairment and disability, religion and age which operate not only between men* and women*, but also between women*.

  • each and every woman*’s realities and ways of seeing the world.

  • social interactions that create exclusion, disadvantage, and stigmatisation.

  • the artistic, political, and cultural diversity and creativity of women*.

  • our difference and interconnectedness.

In challenging times and difficult circumstances we support women* and their families to

  • overcome crises

  • discover personal resources

  • unlock creative potential

  • make decisions

  • generate courage and strength

  • welcome the new and other as enriching

  • embrace change

We support women* in processes of self-empowerment, self-awareness and self-determination through counseling, encounter, and dialogue.
